CHICAGO (WLS) -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel urged state lawmakers to give more funding to education while giving a commencement speech Saturday morning

"Every year they consistently cut back on school districts with a preponderance of children from poverty, know we need to back them up and support them because in education, in an era where you earn what you learn, is their ticket out of that barrier into a better tomorrow," Emanuel said.

The mayor spoke at the graduation for Sullivan High School in Rogers Park. It is one of the best schools in the city and 100 percent of this year's graduating class have been accepted to college.
