CHICAGO (WLS) -- As the weather gets warmer, you may be headed to the lake for a swim. Now there is a new initiative to help you play it safe in the water.
The Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project made its announcement at the Shedd Aquarium Thursday. It is organizing free water-safety classes the first and second weekends in June.
People can learn how to recognize the dangers of surf environments and enroll in first aid training.
