CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Hinsdale High School Teachers Association took the first legal step to initiate a strike.
The union and the Hinsdale District 86 Board of Education have been trying to reach a contract agreement for months.
HHSTA filed a strike notice with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board on Tuesday. The teachers may not walk off the job until 28 days after the notification.
The school board said all classes and activities will continue as planned until a strike takes place.
