CHICAGO (WLS) -- The principal of Lane Tech College Prep High School has resigned less than a year after taking the job.

District 113 officials made the announcement that Kathryn Anderson will now be the new principal at Deerfield High School.

Anderson has been running Lane Tech just since September of last year.

Some think many staff members may be leaving CPS as it faces a 30 percent cut next year.

CEO Forrest Claypool said recently that CPS will not even open in the fall without a budget, or spending plan.

Lane Tech staff are no strangers to Deerfield High School. Anderson is replacing Lane Tech's former principal Christopher Dignam, who resigned from Lane Tech last year. To come to Deerfield, he was promoted to from principal to district superintendent.

Lane Tech, the largest CPS high school, faces multi-million dollar budget cuts because of the state operating without a budget.

The school council will now have to start their search for a new principal.
