St. Alphonsus raises more than $300K to stay open

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- A suburban catholic school exceeded its fundraising goal to stay open, but so far, there's no word if it actually will.

The Archdiocese of Chicago still has to make a final decision on the future of St. Alphonsus Ligouri in Prospect Heights.

ABC7's news partner the Daily Herald reports parents and supporters raised more than $300,000 to keep the school open for at least one more year.
