Student makes a bet with his French teacher that he can get 2,000 retweets to get his classmates A's.

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colorado -- A student in Colorado made a digital-age bet with his teacher, hoping to secure an 'A' on his French final.

The two agreed if the high school junior got 2,000 retweets on Twitter, the entire class would get perfect scores on their final exams.

In less than 24 hours, the tweets started racking up and the students were cruising their way to Christmas break.

But then reality set in, and they realized they didn't want their teacher to get in trouble.

The whole class decided to still take the final to protect their teacher.

They said she's been a great teacher and they didn't want anything to happen to her.

As for the student who initiated the bet, he earned a 95 on his final.
