CHICAGO (WLS) -- College classes are in full swing around the country. Now as many students prepare for their first exams, some are dealing with anxious nights of long studying.
Anxiety has now surpassed depression as the most common mental health diagnosis among college students, according to a recent study by the Center for Collegiate Mental Health at Penn State. One in six students has been diagnosed or treated with anxiety within the last 12 months.
Neely Benn, MSW, an anxiety and depression therapist at NorthShore University HealthSystem, visited ABC7 Eyewitness News to talk about how parents can help their students dealing with anxiety.
