Baryshnikov recognized at Hubbard Street Dance fundraiser

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Dancer and actor Mikhail Baryshnikov was recognized at Monday night's Hubbard Street Dance fundraiser.

Mayor Emanuel, a former ballet dancer, presented him with an award, which reminded Baryshnikov about the time he met Emanuel at the White House.

"I just turn around, look at the White House and said, my God, a dancer advising the President. What a country, eh?" said Baryshnikov.

Baryshnikov received Hubbard Street's 2014 Spotlight Award.

Baryshnikov is currently touring in the Chekhov play "Man in a Case."
