Chicagoans pick up Oscars for original song
Rapper Common took home the Oscar Sunday night for "Best Original Song" for his duet "Glory" with John Legend.

LOS ANGELES (WLS) -- Rapper Common took home the Oscar Sunday night for "Best Original Song" for his duet "Glory" with John Legend.

The song was featured in the film "Selma" about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s campaign to secure equal voting rights.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel extended his congratulations to Common, calling him "one of Chicago's brightest stars."

Chicago native Graham Moore won for "Best Adapted Screenplay" for "The Imitation Game."
