First rose ceremony on 'Bachelor in Paradise' sends one woman home, 'After Paradise' premieres

NEW YORK -- "Bachelor in Paradise" picked up with Clare's arrival. She received a warm welcome from the group, and quickly read off her date card to everyone. She sat down with the rest of the ladies to find out who likes who so far. She's thinking about asking Dan Cox out, but right now he's off with Ashley S. in an ambulance. After getting hydrated by an IV at the hospital, the new couple returned and crushed Clare's hopes of taking Dan on a date. Clare then realizes the only "available" men left were Mikey and JJ.

Mikey approached Clare and made the hard sell to try to get her to take him on the date. It was so awkward. She sat in silence for a bit, but then said, "I'd love to take you on the date." He was so happy and admitted that he has always had a little bit of a crush on her and she found that to be an attractive quality about him.

So the two went off to a nearby resort where they met up with two instructors to learn how to do some tantric yoga. They both seemed a little uncomfortable with it, although Mikey was sure enjoying himself. Clare and Mikey were touching their behinds and fronts throughout a lot of the session. Later, they took a much needed swim near a waterfall. They were sweating all over each other, it was kind of gross. Mikey told her that he was really attracted to her, and she told him that she still wanted to test the waters with some other men. He didn't really hear that and thinks that she's still interested in him, although I highly doubt it. Sorry Mikey!

After her scare, Ashley S. and Dan went on a date. She told him despite them being at the hospital and in an ambulance it was like the best date she's ever been on. She told him that he has a really nice face and that she likes her sense of humor. Dan said that if he had a rose right then and there he would have given it to her. They really seemed to get along well! They did some kissing under the moonlight.

Back at the house, Tenley and Mikey talked about how it was a bummer that she hadn't met anyone yet. She told Mikey that she likes Jared but she's insecure because she's older than him. Jared was walking alone on the beach and Mikey told Tenley to go for it. Ashley I. was upset that Tenley was walking around with her man and started whining and crying about it again to her sister. Ashley didn't take it lying down this time, she went up to them and asked Tenley if she could steal Jared away. Tenley was crushed!

Ashley I. started to tell Jared that she is sorry she's so awkward around him and that she thinks he's really cute. She admitted she's worried about someone else stealing him away. He told her that he's open to anyone there. Yikes, all of her eggs are apparently in one basket. Hopefully her sis can come through with a rose for the sister team if need be.

It's nearly time for the first rose ceremony, and JJ realized he was in a power position with the only real rose up for grabs. Jillian thinks that she has JJ in the palm of her hand, but Tenley is making a big play for him. She told JJ that he could kiss her if he wanted to so that he could see if there were sparks there. She thinks that there were! I kind of thought it was gross, I mean, she was so desperate for a rose!

Meantime, Jared told Clare that if she didn't have a rose by the time his name is called, he would give her a rose. So there goes Ashley I.'s rose! She was so upset when she noticed the two of them talking and realized that Jared wasn't off being interviewed. Clare asked Jared if they could spend some time together and he said, "absolutely".

At last, it was time for the rose ceremony! Tanner gave his rose to Jade, Kirk gave one to Carly, Dan gave a rose to Ashley S., Jonathan gave his to Juelia, Mikey doled his out to Clare. Jared decided to give his rose to Ashley I. after all of the drama, so she's got some more time to work on him despite what he said to Clare. That rose also secures Lauren's spot for another week. JJ had the last rose and he gave it to Tenley! Jillian was so upset! She thought she had it in the bag, but it turns out Tenley saved herself with that desperate last minute kiss. Jillian rushed off and got in the car to leave and she cried as she left.

Then it was time for "After Paradise" the new live show with Chris Harrison and Jenny Mollen. Believe it or not, there are celebrity guests that will weigh in too! This week it was Joshua Malina and Katie Lowes from "Scandal"! Ashley I. was there first to sit and answer some viewer questions that were coming in live via Twitter. Before we got to that, they all talked about what they think about Shawn and Kaitlyn and they were all pretty mean, especially about Shawn, except for Katie Lowes!

Ashley I. then explained the "laugh cry" which is basically when you are crying but you know it's ridiculous so you end up laughing. Then they showed a montage of her laughing and crying. There was an online vote and more than 80% of fans thought that Ashley should not have brought her sister Lauren on the show.

Jared gave a behind the scenes tour of the "Bachelor in Paradise" house and it was amazing. I especially loved the secret little hot tub! Then, Katie and Jenny battled on whether Jared was hot or not and Jenny thinks not. Ashley I. said that there is just something about him and how humble he comes off. It's a major turn on for the ladies!

Later we got to see Tenley's wedding toast to Marcus and Lacy in a deleted scene. Lacy then joined the show to talk about the wedding and about how Marcus is away on a training mission with the Coast Guard until October. She said it was great to have such an intimate wedding in the place that they first found each other. Then they talked about all of the couples, and what their chances of staying together are. People seem to be most excited about Jade and Tanner. There was a fun clip of Mikey and Clare showing off their tantric yoga skills which made everyone in the room uncomfortable! It was really funny actually.

Mikey came on next and addressed everything that the ladies had been saying about him. He said that he just tried to put himself out there and see if he could find love! Then right in front of him they had a live vote to see if he was a "meat head" or a "beef heart"! Sadly the vote said 71% meat head! Mikey answered a viewer question about who is really themselves in "paradise" and he said no one was at first but later everyone opened up. That's not a real answer!

We finally got to see some more about what happened with Ashley S.' and Dan's time at the hospital. It showed them with IV's getting hydrated and hanging out in the hospital. That's pretty funny! Then they did a viewer vote on whether people would rather be on the ER date or the tantric yoga date with Mikey. Again the viewers showed no love for Mikey, and 75% of people would rather go to an emergency room in Mexico.

Chris Harrison asked everyone who they would want as the next "Bachelor" and it seems to be between the Bens and Nick. Katie (who I'm now convinced would be my real life best friend) said that she would want Ben Z as the next "Bachelor!" I happen to think it would probably be Ben H. Then the panel started talking about how it was time for a "Bachelor" of color or even if Chris Harrison would step up and be the "Bachelor" himself! Harrison did reveal that they would be making the big announcement on "After Paradise" sometime in the coming weeks.

Then there was a preview of next week's "Bachelor in Paradise" and Joe makes a bad comment towards Clare and you know that will bring the drama!
