franklyHANK's roundup for the week in entertainment.

"HAMILTON" REIGNS SUPREME

Tony nominations are out and the word on everyone's lips, to no surprise, is "Hamilton." The musical hip-hopera on the life of Alexander Hamilton earned an impressive 16 nominations. "Hamilton" is the darling of Broadway and so popular you can't get a ticket from the Box Office until 2017! However, "Hamilton" will debut in Chicago this September from Broadway in Chicago. Tickets go on sale soon.

"THE KING and I"

You can, however, get tickets to see Lyric Opera's "The King and I" and I certainly encourage you to do so. The hit Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway musical tells the story of Anna, a British school teacher, played beautifully by the enormously talented Kate Baldwin, who travels overseas to work for the King of Siam, played excellently by Paolo Montalban. Their contentious, bitter relationship turns sweet in this powerful rendition. From costumes to sets, Lyric's production is outstanding. And kudos to casting the most adorable children who steal the show as the King's sires and Anna's students. Buy tickets at https://www.lyricopera.org/king or CLICK HERE for your chance to win a pair from WCL. The show runs through May 22 at the Civic Opera House.

BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS

The Billboard Music Awards are happening in Las Vegas on May 22. You can watch them live on ABC7, but why watch them on television when you can be there in person! WCL wants to send one lucky viewer and a guest to see all of the action in Las Vegas. Prize includes round-trip air fare for two; hotel accommodations and tickets to the awards show!
