Hayden Panettiere confirms pregnancy during Ice Bucket Challenge, nominates unborn child

Actress Hayden Panettiere, who plays Juliet Barnes on ABC's ''Nashville'' has confirmed reports circulating for months that she is pregnant - in a pretty unique way.

Hayden, who turned 25 Thursday, accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge. Friend and "Dancing With the Stars" pro Derek Hough douses Hayden with a cold bucket of water, but first she makes her nominations. Number one: Kacey Musgraves. She called it a "renomination."

"You're not getting out of this one," Hayden says.

Next, she nominates her fiance, Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko. Lastly, she nominates her "unborn child."

Hough proceeds to dump the water on her head, which based on Hayden's reaction and seemingly desperate fight not to swear, it must've been quite cold.

"Yup! That's cold!" she says after jumping up and down and shrieking.

"That got me too a little actually," Hough laughs.

Us Magazine first reported Panettiere was pregnant in May, seven months after the star announced her engagement to the 38-year-old Klitschko on "Live with Regis and Kelly," after dating on and off since 2010.

Believe it or not, Hayden isn't the only one using the Ice Bucket Challenge to publicly confirm a pregnancy. "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Star Trek" movies leading lady Zoe Saldana also showed off the side profile of her baby bump - which has been often photographed, but not officially confirmed before. Unlike Hayden, Zoe opts out of the challenge, citing the baby, and husband Marco Perego takes the challenge in her place. He then jumps into their pool.
