Joliet Public Library hosts Star Wars Day
Costumed characters from the Star Wars universe are coming to a Chicago suburb not so far, far away.

JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) -- Costumed characters from the Star Wars universe are coming to a Chicago suburb not so far, far away. The Joliet Public Library is inviting all fans of the epic saga to their 8th Annual Star Wars Day.

The family-friendly festival features games, live music, a parade, movie prop exhibits and more. The free event begins at 11 a.m. on June 3, 2017 at the Ottawa Street branch located at 150 N. Ottawa Street in Joliet. The Joliet Public Library said Star Wars Day promotes literacy and learning. The library's executive director, Megan Millen, and Jody McQuarters from the 501st Legion joined ABC7 live before the start of all the fun.
