MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Election officials in Tenessee say they're happy Justin Timberlake has been encouraging people to get out and vote. But they aren't crazy about the way he did it.

Ballot selfies: Where they are allowed and not allowed

Timberlake boasted on Instagram that he flew in from California to his home state of Tennessee to cast an early vote - and included a selfie of him at the ballot box.

That's a no-no - because Tennessee law bars people from taking photos or videos inside a polling place.

No word whether Timberlake will get in trouble for the infraction. But a top state official says he's "thrilled" Timberlake is urging people to vote.
