CHICAGO (WLS) -- Key and Peele and their co-star were just in town at Chicago's Tree House Humane Society to talk about ''Keanu'' and some cool cats.

Who got the best treatment, the actors or the cats?

"Oh, please, you know the answer," said Keegan-Michael Key. "The cats were living in Shangri-La, double decker trailer, enormous scratching post."

"They are specialists at what they do," said Jordan Peele.

"Specialized training, some cats run from A to B, some cats do all the jumping, some cats sit in your hand and cuddle and look cute," Key said.

Actor Jason Mitchell went from his role in "Straight Outta Compton" into this movie.

"We kind of did like a chemistry mix situation, that's how I became a part of it," he said.

"He came in before Compton had come out, and I was like, he has no idea he's about to be so big. Snatch him up, snatch him up now!" Peele said.

Key and Peele met in Chicago at the Second City theater.

"This is where the whole marriage began, was here. We were on Clark, right on the Belmont stop on the Red Line," Key said.

The duo encouraged moviegoers to adopt cats.

"That's one of the messages of this movie. Bring some love into your life. Fall in love with a cat. Kittens get adopted. Cats - it's a little bit harder, but they were once kittens. Tree House is very special. It's the first no-kill shelter in America," Peele said.
