First Lady Michelle Obama, daughters leave Chicago after visit

CHICAGO (WLS) -- First Lady Michelle Obama and her daughters Sasha and Malia left the family's Kenwood home just before noon Friday to return to Washington, D.C.

It was a quick trip to Chicago, less than 24 hours. It had been a year since she visited her hometown. And that may be a hint about the family's future.

The first lady had no public events Friday, but was spotted dancing with her daughters at the Beyonce-Jay-Z concert Thursday night.

Yesenia Herrera of Chicago shot a selfie, catching the first lady in the background. Herrera said they had seats right by the stage in the pit.

Earlier Thursday, the first lady attended a Democratic fundraiser and was spotted at Billy Dec's Sunda restaurant in River North.

"We wouldn't want to see them go anywhere else but back home, I would love to see them back, especially the girls since we've seen them grow up," said Taleia Hill, a Chicagoan.

"I feel like they're a part of the neighborhood, they're a part of Chicago culture kind of," said Sung Park, a Chicagoan.

With their Kenwood home hardly being used, the White House has crushed rumors of the Obamas buying a California home.
