Neil Patrick Harris married long-time partner David Burtka over the weekend in Italy. The couple has been together for 10 years and have two children together, 3-year-old fraternal twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott.

Harris tweeted a photo from the wedding to publicly announce the marriage, saying, "Guess what? David Burtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the 'n' and 'd' in 'husband.'"

The ceremony officiated by Harris' close friend and long time How I Met Your Mother director Pam Fryman, according to People Magazine. Sir Elton John performed at the reception.

Kelly Ripa, who attended the nuptials, said Monday morning on Live with Kelly & Michael that the kids were involved in the ceremony and that magic also played a role. Harris is a well known magic fan and is the president of Hollywood's Magic Castle.

Harris is well known for his portrayal of ladies' man Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother. He received four Emmy nominations for the role before the show ended its final season earlier this year. He recently wrapped a stint on Broadway in the title role of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
