New book on life of Michael Jackson

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Michael Jackson was known as the "King of Pop," but he started out humbly in Gary, Ind. His career spanned five decades.

Now, a new book is shedding light on the man behind the music. "MJ: The Genius of Michael Jackson" is now in bookstores everywhere.

Author Steve Knopper sat down with ABC 7 Eyewitness News to talk about his book, and how Michael Jackson helped get his start in Chicago.
