Social media can definitely be a valuable tool to share important moments in our lives and keep in touch with friends in far away places. But just as Eliza Dooley learns in ABC's new comedy series "Selfie," drinking in too much social media can leave you with a big digital hangover.

That's why "Selfie" is promoting the #SelfieSocialCleanse happening on Tuesday, September 16th. Starting from 12 am to 11:59 pm, you're challenged to go an entire day without social media and texting. No tweets about traffic jams, no shared photos of your food, and no texting during boring meetings. Once the day is over, you can share your experience online using the #SelfieSocialCleanse hashtag.

"Selfie" follows Eliza Dooley, a social media maven who has plenty of Twitter followers but not so many real life friends. After becoming the subject of an embarrassing viral video, Dooley enlists the help of marketing guru Henry to remake her image in the real world.

"Selfie" premieres Tuesday, September 30th at 8 EST/PST / 7 CST on ABC. You can learn more about "Selfie" and the social media cleanse at the links below.
