'Wheel of Fortune" auditions held in Rosemont
Tryouts resume Sunday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in north suburban Rosemont.

ROSEMONT, Ill. (WLS) -- "Wheel of Fortune" held auditions Saturday in suburban Rosemont for a chance to be a contestant on America's most popular game show.

A few thousand people came out for a chance.

"This is like a bucket list thing for me," said Charlie Diana. "Yeah, yeah. getting older ... Knock off things on the list. I want to be on this show."

Tryouts resume Sunday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in north suburban Rosemont. Those chosen could be on the show's special Great American Cities Chicago Week in the spring.

"After all, Chicago is one of the greatest American cities in our nation and we are ready to find contestants to represent," said David Strathearn, director of marketing and promotions for the show.

On Saturday, the bright yellow Wheel Mobile was parked outside the convention center.

"It is the funniest experience, especially a crowd like Chicago," said Mallory Harden, who is the traveling "Vanna."

The next step of this process will be notifying the lucky ones to come back for a closed audition in town this fall.
