Children of fallen veterans take trip aboard 'Snowball Express'

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Hundreds of children from across the country boarded the "Snowball Express" Thursday on a trip to create happy memories.

Some of them are from the Chicago area, and they all have a parent who died while serving our country. They received a big send-off as they left O'Hare Airport headed for an all-expenses paid trip to Dallas - Fort Worth.

It was organized by the group "Snowball Express" with the goal of brightening the holidays for children coping with a loss. American Airlines is providing most of the air travel, while the flight crews are donating their time.
