Jenna Bush Hager gives birth to second child

Former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager has given birth to her second child with husband Henry Hager.

Poppy Louise Hager was born Thursday, People reports. She is named after her great-grandfather, the 41st president of the United States.

"Poppy is named after Jenna's grandfather, George Herbert Walker 'Poppy' Bush, a.k.a. Gampy," the parents said in a statement. "His nickname growing up was Poppy, and we are proud to name her after a man we so adore."

The 33-year-old Today Show correspondent wrote on Instagram of newest addition, "We are in LOVE." Her father, George W. Bush, already has a great relationship with the couple's first daughter, 2-year-old, Mila, People reports.

"Laura and I are overjoyed to meet our second grandchild today. Poppy Louise Hager entered the world yesterday in New York City, but we consider her an honorary Texan," George W. Bush said in a statement. "We are grateful to God -- and to Jenna and Henry -- for this beautiful, healthy gift of life."

The family said mom and baby are doing well.
