CHICAGO (WLS) -- A judge upheld what is often called Chicago's Netflix tax Thursday.

The city imposes a 9 percent tax on internet streaming services, covering not only Netflix, but also Spotify and Hulu, among others.

Lawyers for the nonprofit Liberty Justice Center filed a lawsuit challenging the city's authority to impose such a tax.

They plan to appeal Thursday's ruling.
