Man claims he was fired for giving tacos to veteran

BAKERSFIELD, CA -- A Jack in the Box employee in Southern California says he was fired for giving free tacos to a veteran.

Alex Mesta, 19, says he would give the man free coffee from time to time, because he was a veteran and a regular.

Most recently, Mesta gave him two tacos for free that another customer ordered and left behind.

Mesta told station KERO, "It's either throw them away or make them for him. I know what I did wasn't right to them, but to me, it felt right."

Jack in the Box says Mesta was fired for more than that just this incident.
