Girl, 12, sexually assaulted in Back of the Yards, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police said the girl was walking at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 5000-block of South May Street when a man approached her, struck her, forced her into a gray conversion van and sexually assaulted her.

The victim was able to escape from the vehicle and called police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-30's to early 40's with a light complexion and between 150 to 180 lbs.
