Girl, 5, hit by stray bullet in Harvey

HARVEY, Ill. (WLS) -- A 5-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet in south suburban Harvey Thursday night, a spokesman for Harvey said.

The girl was inside a home near 150th Street and Rockwell Avenue when she was wounded. She was transported to Comer Children's Hospital, where her condition has stabilized.

The spokesman said the shooting appears to be gang related. Further details on the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.
