Church leaders look to de-bunk organ donor myths

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Church leaders from across the country are calling on parishioners to think about becoming organ donors.

This weekend is the National Donor Sabbath.

Donations saved the life of Stephen Richardson when he received two heart transplants and a kidney transplants.

He wants to de-bunk myths surrounding donation.

The CEO of the "Gift of Hope" organization says there are thousands of people in the Chicago area waiting for organ donations.
