Health groups and non-profits in the suburbs are stepping up their attempts to get people talking about mental health.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Health groups and non-profits in the suburbs are stepping up their attempts to get people talking - and educated - about mental health, an issue that affects roughly half of us, writes Daily Herald staff writer Marie Wilson.

Mental Health First Aid classes are offered from Naperville to Crystal Lake. Said one therapist about the problem: "We've heard so many horrible things in the news lately, if one person had just said 'Are you OK?' maybe some of these things wouldn't have happened."
