CHICAGO (WLS) -- Certain sports may be more likely to put your child at risk for an ACL injury.

Doctors say the knee injury has become more common in children, especially for teenage boys and girls. The injury tends to happen after athletes perform sudden twists and turns.

The new study says boys who play football, lacrosse and soccer are at higher risk of tearing their ACL. Girls playing soccer, basketball and lacrosse are most at risk.
