Fundraiser benefits domestic violence victims

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A charity brunch Sunday surpassed its expected goal to help women and children affected by domestic violence.

WINGS held its 11th annual "Sweet Home Chicago" fundraiser at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago.

They raised more than $900,000, which will help provide shelter for abused women and children.

WINGS is also building a new shelter in Chicago's Southwest Side.
