LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill. (WLS) -- You might have heard of therapy dogs, but one organization takes mini horses to help people going through tough times. On Saturday, Oct. 18, a 5K Trot-A-Thon is raising money for the non-profit organization Mane in Heaven, which provides therapeutic benefits to disabled and able-bodied children and adults through animal-assisted activity and therapy visits. The horses visit assisted living facilities, nursing homes, schools, hospitals, libraries and rehabilitation centers. Mane in Heaven does not charge for visits.

Jodie Diegel, founder and executive director of Mane In Heaven, and Dina Morgan, board member, head of fundraising and volunteer, joined us live in northwest suburban Lake in the Hills during our ABC7 Eyewitness News Saturday Morning to tell us all about the organization and the event.
