Orland Park, hospital strike deal to save fitness center

ORLAND PARK (WLS) -- A popular suburban fitness center will not be torn down.

Palos Community Hospital and Orland Park have reached a deal to save the Palos Health & Fitness Center.

The hospital wanted to tear down the gym to make way for a multi-million dollar expansion.

Hundreds in the community were outraged and asked the village to reconsider.

The new plan now includes a landswap which will still allow the hospital to expand.
