CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Susan G. Komen - Chicagoland Area (Komen Chicago) Mother's Day Race for the Cure will take place on May 10, 2015, at Butler Field in Grant Park.
This year, after the race, cast members of "The Book of Mormon" and Beyond Words Dance Company will entertain racers. This is the third year Komen Chicago is hosting the race on Mother's Day, and the 18th year hosting the race in Chicago.
In 2014, nearly 10,000 participants raced to honor those who have fought breast cancer. The 2015 Race for the Cure is expected to raise $1 million to fund research and prevention programs that further the organization's mission of ending breast cancer forever.
Leticia Kees and Linda Borton talked with ABC 7 live from the race course about how important giving to Susan G. Komen can be.
