CHICAGO (WLS) --Thousands of runners are celebrating survivors and moms during the 20th anniversary of the Susan G. Komen Mother's Day Race for the Cure.
On May 14, the inspirational program will feature a 5K race, a Survivor Parade, and a tribute to the pink heroes who help in the fight against breast cancer. This year, the race will take place at a new lakefront location at Montrose Harbor. Komen Chicago donates 75 percent of net funds raised to community grants and dedicates 25 percent to global research. Over the past 20 years, Komen Chicago has distributed $17.4 million in community grants.
Aminah Abdullah from Komen Chicago joined ABC 7 live from the Mother's Day Race for the Cure to share all the fun events and how you can still help.
