Thousands of people from the Chicago area are coming to Montrose Harbor Sunday for the Walk to End Alzheimer's

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thousands of people from the Chicago area are coming to Montrose Harbor on September 25, 2016 for The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's. The 3.1 mile walk hopes to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer's disease. Right now, there are 220,000 Illinois residents living with Alzheimer's. 1 in 3 seniors die with Alzheimer's or a related dementia. The annual Walk to End Alzheimer's in Chicago is one of the top 10 in the entire country. Walk participants will also join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News' Alan Krashesky is the emcee for the walk and joined President & CEO of the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Illinois Chapter, Erna Colborn, live to talk about the event's impact on the community.
