Hundreds participate in Strike Out ALS 5K

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Hundreds of runners hit the pavement Tuesday night to raise money and awareness as part of the Strike Out ALS 5K.

Runners took a turn around U.S. Cellular Field as part of the race route. The group included Eyewitness News reporter John Garcia and Meteorologist Phil Schwarz.

ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
