The weather might not scream outdoor sporting season right now, but hundreds of athletes are still braving the elements in the 29th annual Leaning Tower YMCA Youth Triathlon in northwest suburban Niles. The youth triathlon is on Saturday, May 17 and the adults get their turn on Sunday, May 18. All proceeds benefit the Y's annual fund, which provides financial assistance to help members of our community join the Y and participate in programs they couldn't otherwise afford.
YMCA Chicago Heath, Wellness and Fitness Director Danny Rubio and youth triathlete Gavin Trotter joined us live during our ABC 7 Eyewitness News Saturday morning to tell us about the sporting event.
