Naperville Halloween display gains national attention
For Nick Thomas and Steve Jandick in Naperville, gearing up for Halloween has become a year long project.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Halloween has turned into a big event for people who like to decorate. For Nick Thomas and Steve Jandick in Naperville, gearing up for the spooky holiday has become a year-long project.

The Halloween House and light show they put on in the west suburb was recently featured on "Good Morning America."

Thomas, the Department Chair of Fine Arts and Humanities at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, said he started decorating around 15 years ago when his children were young. The display started out small, with only 10-12 tombstones and plastic pumpkins in the yard. But now, with Jandick's help, their decorations and 32-song light show have gained national attention.

This year, they are collecting donations for Gigi's Playhouse, an organization that offers free educational and therapeutic programs for children with Down syndrome.

The Naperville Trolley will be doing haunted tours the last week of October, stopping at all the decorated houses.

Thomas and Jandick also have big plans for Christmas. Be sure to visit the neighborhood and check it out!
