ORLAND PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A rare American eel was caught recently in Tampier Lake in Orland Park.

It's only the third eel found in forest preserve waters in 30 years. A fisheries biologist says it most likely swam from a river system near Canada's Hudson Bay or the Gulf of Mexico.

The eel was released back into the lake.
