NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- The city of Naperville is asking electric customers to voluntarily reduce usage on Tuesday between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. due to high temperatures.

The goal is to lower Naperville's peak electric usage figure for July.

Part of the city's cost when buying electricity is based on that number, so any savings can be passed on to customers in the form of lower rates.
