Police investigate string of burglaries in Belmont-Cragin neighborhood

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are investigating a string of robberies that occurred in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side between Dec. 19-20, police said.

In each incident, offenders approached victims from behind and used force to rob them.

A man, and possibly two men, between the ages of 20 and 30, are believed to have robbed five locations in the mid-morning, afternoon and evening hours at the following locations: 6000 block of West School, 5400 block of West Montrose, 5400 block of West Berteau, 5600 block of W. Gunnison, and 3300 block of North Long.

The suspects are described as being black, between 5-feet-8-inches and six-feet tall, weighing between 130 and 160 pounds. The individual or individuals were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, dark pants and a black baseball cap or black knit hat.
