White Sox name new TV announcer Jason Benetti
The White Sox announced Wednesday that they've added Jason Benetti to their team of home game television announcers.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The White Sox announced Wednesday that they've added Jason Benetti to their team of home game television announcers while Ken Harrelson and Steve Stone renewed multi-year contracts.

Benetti, a Chicago area native, has been a play-by-play announcer for college baseball, basketball, football and lacrosse at ESPN for five years.

Benetti will be paired with Steve Stone for television broadcasts of all the White Sox's home games with the exception of the home opener and the Crosstown Classic against the Chicago Cubs in July.

Ken "Hawk" Harrelson will continue to announce the play-by-play on the road, as well as the home opener and Crosstown Classic with Stone. Harrelson has agreed to a multi-year contract extension even as he prepares to start his 32nd season announcing. Stone has also agreed to a contract extension to continue as the club's color analyst.

"Joining the White Sox television team of Ken Harrelson and Steve Stone - with the chance to work with Steve on home games - is truly a dream come true for a kid who grew up in the south suburbs watching Sox games during the 1990s," Benetti said. "This is beyond exciting for me."
