CHICAGO (WLS) -- Hundreds of people from Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana marched and rallied Sunday afternoon in the Loop.

The annual March for Life in Chicago was attended by those who cannot attend the larger march held in Washington, D.C. every year on Jan. 22.

Participants said every life deserves to be protected at every stage of life.

"I love life in all stages," said activist Veronica Price. "I want to help women see they don't have to be forced into having an abortion, there's a lot of hope and help available. It's important to keep life, protect it through all stages of life, even from conception 'til death."

This year's march happens just five days before the 43rd anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade, in which the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion nationwide.

The group then rallied at Federal Plaza with local political and religious leaders.
