Fundraiser held for Chicago youth violence prevention

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Hundreds of people gathered Sunday evening on the Southwest Side to raise awareness on the growing violence across Chicago.

Local leaders, including Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, attended the Bright Star Community Outreach fundraiser this evening.

The organization works to prevent youth violence and offers counseling for children and families who have gone through traumatic experiences.
