HARVEY, Ill. (WLS) -- The freezing temperatures are especially tough for residents of a high-rise apartment building in Harvey, who say the heat hasn't worked right since this weekend.

Residents tell us the heat came back on briefly Tuesday morning, but it remains too cold for comfort.

"It's still cold in the apartment, we're gonna have to sleep in our clothes tonight," said Fran Alexander, a resident.

"Last night it had started but then it went out, we woke up freezing!" said Vicky Didian, another resident.

The building is managed by the Housing Authority of Cook County, who says a boiler problem has been fixed and heat is now gradually returning to the building.
