ROUND LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- Round Lake police say two schools were placed on soft lockdown for a couple hours Thursday morning after shots were reported fired in an area nearby. The lockdown was lifted shortly before 10 a.m.

Round Lake Beach Police Chief Michael Gillette said officers received a call of "shots fired" around 6 a.m. Three individuals, including one high schooler, were taken in for questioning. Police say they were reportedly drinking, driving and shooting a gun in a trailer park.

Police say no one was injured and there are no reports of properly damage. The area where the shots were fired borders Round Lake High School and Margee Middle School, so a soft lockdown was put in place "out of an abundance of caution."

There are no charges filed at this time.
