Application deadline to join CPD one week away

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The deadline to apply for a chance to become a Chicago police officer is now one week away.

The department held a recruitment event in the Little Village neighborhood. Applying is the first step in the process toward becoming an officer.

Interim Superintendent John Escalante says it's important the department is diverse and reflects the city.
