CHICAGO (WLS) -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel is announcing a significant drop in crime on CTA trains and buses. Last year, overall crime on the CTA was down 25 percent.

The mayor's office says much of the drop reflects the city's significant investment in security cameras across the CTA system.

Last year, 256 people were arrested after their images were caught on CTA cameras.
