CHICAGO (WLS) --There's nothing like some hot cars on a cold winter's day - Wednesday was Media Test Drive Day at the Chicago Auto Show.
How about a $200,000 Acura NSX? That's about as fast as you can go and electric. Maybe an insane blacked-out truck from GMC, decked out in LED lights? An American-made Hellcat from Dodge?
It's music for the car lover.
The test drive featured a range of vehicles, foreign and domestic, most ready to drive at just under 10 mph.
The Acura NSX returns after a decade's absence -- now sporting a twin turbo six-cylinder and three electric motors.
"You've got the instant acceleration that gives you that g-feeling," said Allie Coulter, Acura.
We couldn't wind it, but to actually drive these supercars was an experience.
Fiat Chrysler was at the far end of the setup, featuring their new minivan, the Pacifica. But we couldn't resist the 707-horsepower Charger Hellcat. It has a launch button! Just in case you find yourself at the track - you can launch yourself onto to the track.
There were wild colors, crazy off-road custom cars from Nissan and nods to nostalgia with the new 2016 Fiat 124 Spyder. Then there was this behemoth - the GMC Sierra All-Terrain X.
"Those people that want to go off-road with the truck and look darn good doing it, this is the truck for them," said Brian Goebel, GMC communications.
The Mustang was my ride, but somebody you know beat me to it.
"I just wanna drive it!" said ABC7's Roz Varon.
So, off I went for the refined XC90.
"The wood, the natural leather, it's designed to be very calming," said Jim Nichols, Volvo Car USA.
So silent that with a tight turning circle, it drowned out Roz's ride.
