2 men found dead in Bronzeville apartment

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two men were found fatally shot in a Bronzeville apartment Sunday morning, police said.

Shortly before 11 a.m., police found the bodies in an apartment in the 5000-block of South Champlain Avenue on the South Side.

The men were pronounced dead on the scene. No one is in custody.

People who knew the victims gathered crying outside the apartment building, expressing shock and sadness. One woman collapsed.

"About 9:30 a.m., I heard gunshots and literally afterwards came to my window. I didn't see anything and I came out and there was nothing else," said neighbor Mac Gordon.

An hour later, Gordon said police had swarmed the area.

Officials have not yet released the identifies of the victims.
